At YOU TIME, we believe there's something rather special about stepping away from our screens, getting creative, having a little fun and rediscovering the simple pleasures that can sometimes get lost in our busy lives.

Whether it's making something with your hands, adding colour to a page, playing a game with the family or learning a completely new skill, these little moments can make a real difference to how we feel.

Needle Felting – A Little Bit of Mindfulness

​

One of my personal favourite crafts is needle felting. There's something incredibly satisfying about taking a handful of soft wool and gradually transforming it into a little animal, character or creation of your own.

I find needle felting wonderfully relaxing. The gentle, repetitive movements and the concentration involved help me switch off from everything else. My mind becomes quieter, the stresses of the day seem to fade into the background, and I can simply enjoy what I'm doing.

​

In many ways, it feels almost like meditation.

And that's one of the lovely things about creative hobbies. You don't necessarily have to sit still, close your eyes or practise traditional meditation to experience a little mindfulness. Sometimes, becoming completely absorbed in making something can provide that same welcome sense of calm and being present in the moment.

At YOU TIME, we have needle felting kits for different ages, interests and skill levels, from simple beginner-friendly projects to more detailed creations for those who enjoy a challenge. Please check the recommended age and safety guidance for each kit, as felting needles are very sharp.
