Inspired by the quieter corners of the Lake District, this piece captures the gentle meeting of land and water beneath the surrounding fells.

Tall reeds frame the shoreline, drawing the viewer into the scene and towards the distant mountains beyond. Soft reflections shimmer across the water, while the changing light creates subtle variations of colour and texture throughout the landscape.

Through soft pastel, I sought to capture not only the beauty of the Lake District, but the feeling of standing quietly at the water's edge, immersed in the peace and stillness of the natural world.

This piece comes unframed.

The original is also in The Halls of Ripon, Ripon, North Yorkshire.
