Inspired by the tranquil lakes of the Lake District, this piece captures a quiet moment at the water's edge, where reflections, reeds and floating lily pads combine to create a tapestry of colour and light.
The distant fells provide a gentle backdrop, while the water becomes the true focus of the scene, reflecting the changing sky and surrounding landscape. Soft blues, golds and greens blend together to evoke the calm beauty of a Lakeland evening.
Through soft pastel, I sought to capture not only the landscape itself, but the small details that often go unnoticed, the ripples, reflections and fleeting colours that transform an ordinary moment into something memorable.
This piece comes unframed.
The original is also in The Halls of Ripon, Ripon, North Yorkshire.
